What is it all about
Enter the world of Machineers, an award-winning programming adventure game that teaches you to think like programmers and engineers! You are Zola, an apprentice Machineer at Hayden's repair shop in the rusty amusement park, Tivoli Town. Equipped with a tool box full of gears, belts, and electric wires, you build and repair crazy contraptions. Each machine you fix brings you closer to becoming a true Machineer, and prepares you for your next challenge: the Vehicle Workshop, where you can design, drive, and refine your own car! Can you learn how the machines work and fix them, all the while learning about sequencers, machines and other real-world devices?
The gameplay of Machineers revolves around the game's intricate puzzles. These puzzles feature machines that can be built and repaired by the player, and present many mechanical concepts, such as pulleys, sequencers, electrical components, blueprints, diagrams and so on. The puzzles are both educational and challenging, and allow you to teach your students with tangible and relevant demonstrations. A good example of the concepts featured in the game's lessons are switches and switch-statements, critical mechanical elements that are ubiquitous around us (in this case, think of a light switch as the most essential example!). You students will learn these concepts by heart as they master how to apply their knowledge to the intriguing puzzles.
Applicability to standards

This game comes with its own lesson series consisting of 5 lessons, spanning the game's puzzles and culminating with a fun challenge where students get to test and build their own cars. The lessons take a closer look at mechanical concepts and technologies, including electrical components, sequencers and much more.
